Exploration And Practice

This section describes my specific steps and exploration of gamification, as well as the application of computer programming.

Below is how I transformed the map design from the initial concept into an actual game map using computer technology.

The above section is a rough sketch of the map design I created. Since it is a tactical strategy game, the map needs to be divided into different terrains using grids. Therefore, I first used Photoshop to roughly draw the map by filling squares, where each square represents the size of a grid on the map, and different colored squares represent different terrains.

Then I faced the question of where to start the gamification process. To understand the game development process and the specific features of a tactical strategy game, I conducted thorough research and documented it as important functional steps for the tactical strategy game.

After listing the core rules of the game and the features of the tactical strategy game, I began to learn the usage of game engines and basic computer programming.

Finally, with the acquired knowledge of computer programming and the process of creating game maps, I was able to recreate the functionality of the map design within the game engine.
